How did Luke Humphries get into darts?
Humphries, from Newbury in Berkshire, followed his father, a county player, into the game and worked as a roofer before going full-time. He topped the 2017 PDC Development Tour Order of Merit, which earned him a Tour Card for 2018, and won the PDC World Youth Championship in 2019.
In 2019 he had an anxiety attack on stage at the German Darts Open and has since spoken openly about it. His breakthrough came in late 2023, when he won the World Grand Prix, Grand Slam and Players Championship Finals back to back.
What has Luke Humphries won?
He won the PDC World Championship in January 2024 and became world number one on the same day, a position he held until November 2025. He added the World Matchplay later in 2024, then the World Masters and Premier League in 2025.
In 2026 he won the World Cup of Darts with Luke Littler for England, and in October 2026 he won his second World Grand Prix, beating Gerwyn Price 6-4 in the final in Leicester.
What is Luke Humphries' current world ranking?
Humphries is world number two on the PDC Order of Merit as of October 2026, behind Luke Littler, after the World Grand Prix win moved him back ahead of Gian van Veen.
What darts does Luke Humphries use?
Humphries throws 22g Red Dragon darts. Red Dragon's signature range for him includes the TX1, a 90% tungsten torpedo barrel that is front-weighted and short: 43.2mm long and 7.05mm wide at 22g. It has a light ringed grip and is supplied with Red Dragon Nitrotech short shafts and Hardcore flights. The TX3 Cool Blue, TX5 and Prestige are also in his range. See all of them in our Luke Humphries darts collection.
