Who is Ritchie Edhouse?

Ritchie Edhouse is a right-handed professional darts player born in Basildon, Essex, in 1983, and based in Enfield, north London. His nickname, Madhouse, rhymes with his surname. He has said it came from friends, and from the unusual checkout routes he took early on.

How did he break through?

Edhouse first won a PDC Tour Card at the 2017 Q-School. He won Challenge Tour events in 2016, 2019 and 2020 and regained his Tour Card for 2021 through the Challenge Tour. In late 2023 he reached the semi-finals of Players Championship 25, beating Peter Wright on the way, which earned him a place at the 2024 World Championship.

How did Ritchie Edhouse win the European Championship?

He went to the 2024 European Championship in Dortmund as one of the two lowest-ranked players in the field. He beat Gian van Veen, Michael Smith, Gary Anderson and Luke Woodhouse, then beat Jermaine Wattimena 11-3 in the final with a 90.55 average. It was his first major title and his first PDC title, and it took him into the top 32 of the PDC Order of Merit for the first time.

How has Ritchie Edhouse played in 2026?

He lost in the first round of the 2026 World Championship to Jonny Tata. In February 2026 he joined Shot, and his first Shot signature darts followed in March. He was ranked 32nd on the PDC Order of Merit as at 18 October 2026.

What darts does Ritchie Edhouse use?

Edhouse plays 23g darts. He moved to Shot in February 2026 from Mission, and joined a Shot team that includes Michael Smith and Niels Zonneveld. Shot's main Edhouse design is the Madhouse, developed with him: a 90% tungsten straight barrel with a bullnose front, finished in black and gold. The front has 45-degree milling for grip, and the rear has triple silver rings, gold rings and re-machined grooves. Shot also makes a simpler Ritchie Edhouse core model in 90% tungsten, and Madhouse flights in the No. 6 small standard shape. Shot doesn't state which points and shafts he plays.

We don't currently stock his darts. Browse the Shot darts range or all steel tip darts.
